I am a Neurodivergent Doctor of Occupational Therapy specializing in working with Adults who are late diagnosed, undiagnosed, misdiagnosed and are just now realizing that they cannot keep pushing through all the things they used to be able to do. I am a strong advocate for invisible disabilities and intersectionality. My approach to my work is very different from how many professionals choose to work and exist in this world.

I am an expert in the nervous system. In how to rehabilitate the nervous system, but you are the expert in you. In all of my work, I am passionate about dismantling the power dynamics that live in our society and tell you that you should trust professionals more than you can trust yourself. That is false. AND I can help you navigate things you do not understand how to approach or the parts you need help with.

Lived experience is just as valid as controlled scientific studies (maybe even more valid!). Your input and feelings and knowings about yourself are data points.
If something I am teaching or talking about does not resonate for your lived experience than throw out what I say.
If I am talking about something and you can’t follow the metaphor ask for a new metaphor.
If something I made is causing you stress or not making sense, ask and tell me why, I am so happy to keep finding pathways into knowing that work for you. All of my resources are made from working WITH people and constantly revised based on what people say.

Neuroscience is just beginning to try and explain the complexity of how our nervous system works. Generally we tend to consider what we do not understand “magic”. The more we are learning about the way our nervous system works the more I am realizing we are actually defining the magic of how energy moves and flows, and wow is it so much different than what we had been blindly assuming for so long.
This work that I do and this field that I am in, it’s going GOING to change over my lifetime and that is so exciting to me. We are on the frontier exploring things we have not ever had the instruments to measure or look at before, and that excites me beyond measure!

It is my superpower that I can see what is happening in your nervous system in any given situation and how to help you approach it differently to get a different result.
Occupational Therapists have to learn every nerve muscle in the body when they are in grad school. We have to be able to demonstrate proficency in rehabilitation after strokes, traumatic brain injuries, burns, amputations, cancer, hip replacements, tendonitis, arthritis, and all sorts of other physical things that we need helping with. We are also ALSO trained just as much in mental health and human development. We need to know all of the milestones in childhood and how/why they go wrong, and then how to support when it does so it doesn’t impact your daily functioning. It is with ALL of this background that I say I AM NERVOUS SYSTEM OBSESSED. Not just sensory. Not just your brain. The. Whole. Damn. Thing. The way it all works together to create our experience of the world, the way it shuts us down and stops us from doing what we want.
I am currently obsessing on polyvagal theory and interpersonal neurobiology but pervious hyperfocus areas were motor planning theory and cognitive neuroscience.

Do you know that when they take a neuron and put it alone without any other neurons to connect to, it dies?
It is the same for us, no matter how we like to social or connect or communicate, we ALL need opportunities for consistent safe connection to regulate our nervous system. That is because our survival has always been inextricably linked to our ability to connect with others.
All of the resources I make are “Community Based” - which means that there are built in ways for you to connect to others around the resource so that you can learn in safe connection.

Sensory Processing 101
This ebook is designed for late identified neurodivergent adults who are wanting to understand their sensory needs better.
Navigating Sensory Overload
During the Holidays
An interactive guide that helps you make your plan for avoiding holiday sensory overload this season.
Occupational therapists are different from other professionals because we
“facilitate participation and engagement in occupations; the meaningful, necessary, and familiar activities of everyday life … [we] work collaboratively with people in a manner that helps foster hope, motivation, and empowerment, as well as system change”
For those who are weary of more professionals who just don’t get it, I promise you this:
I am neurodivergence affirming.
I will never ask you to mask in your sessions with me.
I will affirm your lived experience.
I will not gaslight you and tell you that your feelings or suspicions about your neurodivergence are not real.
I will help you understand how neurodivergence impacts you regardless of if you have a formal diagnosis.
I will never tell you have to do something ‘my’ way and call you non-compliant if you don’t.
I will remain curious and in problem solving mode with you until we find something that works.
I will hold space for your entire experience.
